Stonehill has been our home since 1970 and we love it and enjoy sharing it with our guests. We offer you a relaxed friendly welcome and try to make your stay with us special. It is a working dairy farm in lush and rolling countryside on the Wiltshire/Gloucester borders of the Cotswolds. We milk about 70 - 80 cows which our son Adrian now manages and he is always happy for you to watch and see how its done! He and his wife Emma have twin daughters, born August 1994. They live very near and are often at the farm. Guests are welcome to walk about the farm and get the authentic feel of farming life, although small children should be accompanied around the yards and sheds. We also have pet cats, dogs and two lambs.

The farm is only one mile from the unspoilt little village of Charlton with a 13th century church and 17th century pub and is only two miles from Malmesbury, the oldest borough in England with it's magnificent Abbey Church and Market Cross, pubs and restaurants.

The Marlborough Downs and the Ridgeway are within easy reach by car for walking. Avebury, Stonhenge, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and the Cotswolds are also within easy reach by car. Riding lessons may be taken at Charlton and Westonbirt Arboretum is 15 minutes away and well worth a visit, especially in the spring and autumn. Badminton is 20 minutes drive to the west and Cheltenham race course is 45 minutes north. Top class polo is played regularly at nearby Cirencester.

The cottages have been converted from farm buildings - Cow Byre and Bull Pen. Each cottage has a sitting room with colour television and bed-settee for a third person. Fully equiped kitchen/diner with electric cooker, fridge and microwave, cosy bathroom with shower, double bedroom with room for a cot. All power and linen are provided.
