Upper Ansdore Farmhouse dates from XIVth century with later additions. The house once belonged to Sir William Cockaine, a former Lord Mayor of London in 1619, and is mentioned in Hasted's History of Kent.

Situated in a Sylvan setting with far reaching views across the valley, in a quiet area away from all the traffic; it overlooks a Kent trust nature reserve.

To the rear of the property there is a well, the shaft is sunk through the chalk to a depth of 220 feet, where water can still be drawn.

All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and ensuite shower, toilet and wash hand basin. There are exposed timbers in all the rooms and guests are supplied with their own key.

There are three local pubs offering good traditional meals, all within a couple of miles; Dover is a 30 minute drive away.

Take a short break or longer stay, and sample over 600 years of history, breakfast served in the oak beamed dining room with Tudor inglenook fireplace, furnished with antiques.

You are assured of a warm welcome and a full English breakfast with our own free range eggs etc.

SELF CATERING HOLIDAYS also available in a period converted barn which provides two bedroom accommodation sleeping 4/5.
