Maitlandfield House is a "B" Listed Manor House built in 1654 and was owned by the Earl of Wemyss.
Situated in one of East Lothian's sought after towns, Haddington, a Royal Burgh since the time of David I. The Town preserves a very complete medieval street with over 175 listed buildings, a fine example of burghal architecture. To the east of the town Maitlandfield House over looks its landscaped gardens and trickling fountain and the grandeur of the magnificent medieval St Mary's Church with the silver River Tyne flowing through its grounds, a favourite haunt of swans and anglers. To the south of the house lies Poldrate Mill with its recently restored mill wheel.
