Haregill Lodge is an 18th century Grade II Listed building. The farmhouse is on an easterly facing slope overlooking the Hambleton hills and the Vale of York at the gateway to Wensleydale. It is situated 3 miles north of Masham in peaceful surroundings, set on a large working mixed farm with a large secluded garden looking over a duck pond.
Haregill Lodge has a spacious lounge with Victorian fireplace, log fire on cold evenings, colour television with satellite and central heating. We also have a games room in the cellar with snooker, pool billards, table tennis and darts.
A large circular stairway leads up to the three bedrooms. Two en suite double rooms and one twin room with private bathroom. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and a colour television.
We offer a hearty Yorkshire breakfast and evening meals are available on request. We use local produce and home grown fruits and vegetables whenever possible. Supper trays for all guests is provided. Packed lunch is available by arrangement.
Haregill Lodge is an excellent base for walking, touring, exploring 'Herriot' and 'Heartbeat' country, the Yorkshire moors and dales. Masham is best known for its Theakstons and Black Sheep beer, the annual Steam Fair, Sheep Fair and Victorian Fair. Lightwater Valley Theme Park and Factory Shop is 15 minutes away. There is plenty of rolling countryside and famous beauty spots for the more adventurous types to explore.
The ancient city of York is an hour's drive away. Historical streets and external wall as well as a large range of museums. There are many abbeys, castles, caves and stately homes, too numerous to name within easy reach of Haregill Lodge.
Alternatively you can visit places where traditional local crafts still continue to this day, such as the manufacture of traditional oak furniture by the Mouse Man at Kilburn. The manufacture of clogs, ropes, glassware, pottery and woollens are all near at hand.
There are also a variety of historic towns and coastal resorts within an hour and a half drive. For the sports person we have fly fishing, pony tekking, golf, swimming, horse racing and leisure centre close at hand. Whatever the weather, whatever your interests, you are spoilt for choice.
