Balkissock Lodge is the home of Janet & Adrian Beale and run as a Guest House for the past six years.

Dating back at least 200 years, this charming Georgian style property once served the Laggan Estate as a sporting retreat.

Today you will find the Lodge amid nearly an acre of well tended lawns and gardens; standing in quiet seclusion in the rolling hills behind the historic fishing village of Ballantrae - a name made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson in his classic novel - The Master of Ballantrae.

Visitors to the Lodge are made comfortable in one of the en suite bedrooms, two of which are located on the ground floor overlooking the heather garden. Each room is heated, has colour television and provides a hospitality tray with facilities for making hot drinks. The rooms are nicely proportioned, well equipped and have recently been redecorated.

The pretty sitting room overlooks the garden and is warmed on cool evenings by a welcoming log fire. After dinner coffees are served in the sitting room and many a friendly evening chatting and laughing has been spent there by our guests.

Golf, fishing, hill walking, bird watching and beachcombing keep our visitors busy whilst fascinting castles like Culzean, magnificent gardens, and Robbie Burns all offer interesting and enjoyable opportunities for outings.

Balkissock is located in the far south of Ayreshire on its borders with Dumfries and Galloway and the scenery is as magnificent as it is unexpected to many visitors discovering the area for the first time. The views seaward are fabulous, laying out a vista of The Mull of Kintyre, Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran, Islay and even the Irish coast on clear days.

Balkissock Lodge is ideal for:
