Traditional Northumberland Farmhouse, dating back to around 1770, surrounded by spectacular and unspoilt countryside. Located just 10 minutes walk from one of the most beautiful sections of Hadrian's Wall, Steel Rigg, Craw's Nest is the perfect place from which to explore the Wall and nearby attractions, such as Vindolanda, Chesters Housteads and many other camps and museums dedicated to this part of our heritage.
Craw's Nest lies in the Border Region, in an area steeped in history and legend - visit nearby castles at Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh - or take the boat from Seahouses to Holy Island or the Farne Islands. Close by, for nature lovers, lies the vast Kielder Forest and Water - an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Pennine Way runs not far away and there are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore right from our doorstep.
Our accommodation is clean, comfortable and welcoming - a place to unwind after a long day's sightseeing or walking. In the evening visit the Twiced Brewed, a cosy traditional public house, or within a short drive you can sit down at the Mile Castle and enjoy an excellent meal of fine locally caught game.
Craw's Nest is situated in an ideal position, on the B6318 (500 yards from the Tourist Information Centre at Once Brewed), with easy access to both the A1 and the M6, both Newcastle and Manchester airports. so for anyone wishing to explore this dramatic countryside or the busier attractions of Carlisle, Newcastle and beyond, we look forward to welcoming you.
