The Cottage is a single storey, post war stone building, situated in the grounds of Grennan Mill. It lies beyond the house, with its own tarred access road and overlooks the partly restored old water mill and the Garpel Burn and is backed by the kitchen garden. The grounds are of a wooded nature and have been opened under the 'Scottish Gardens Scheme'.
The accommodation comprises:
Kitchen: Electric cooker, electric water heater, large pantry, sink, fridge-freezer, washing machine, tumble drier & microwave oven.
Living room: Fully furnished with lounge & dining furniture, colour television and fully carpeted. White meter heating.
Bedroom 1: Double bed with duvet. Electric fire, electric blanket and fully carpeted. White meter heating.
Bedroom 2. Two single beds with duvets. Electric fire, electric blanket and fully carpeted. White meter heating.
Bathroom: With bath, wall heater & shaver point and fully carpeted.
Coalhouse: Adjacent to back door, dustbin space and space for bicycles.
Private patio to rear. The cottage is fully furnished and equipped for four people. Adequate parking for one car. Garden furniture supplied. A barbeque is available.
Not suitable for very young children because of the river.
Sorry, no dogs.
Shopping: The villages of Dairy, New Galloway and Balmaclellan are all less than 3 miles away. There are pay phones and Post Offices in all three villages and Banks in two.
Golf: 9-hole course at New Galloway, 2.5 miles away.
Fishing: Trout fishimg on Garpel Burn is included in the rent. Course fishing on River Ken by arrangement. Boats may be hired by the day on Loch Ken, Carsfad Loch and Lochinvar.
Sailing: Dinghies may be hired for sailing on Loch Ken.
There are many lovely hill walks within easy reach. Nearby, on Garpel Burn there is a natural pool suitable for swimming and a shallow pool ideal for younger children.
