The Hotel, privately owned and managed, is within ten minutes walk of Princes Street. From this street, with it's excellent shopping facilities on one side, and the beautiful gardens overshadowed by the Edinburgh Castle on the other, bus services take visitors to the many historic places of interest in the city.

The Hotel is centrally heated and has a very comfortble and quiet resident's lounge.

There are 36 bedrooms all with private facilities, colour television, telephone, hairdryer, trouser press, radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Four poster bedrooms available on request.

Edinburgh is world famous as a holiday centre, richly steeped in the history and culture of Scotland. You can reach many historic castles, abbeys and stately homes within one hours journey by car. There are bus tours available for many day tours outside the Edinburgh Tourist Information Office.

During August, The Edinburgh International Festival provides visitors with a wonderful opportunity to see and hear many world famous artistes from the world of music and drama.

There are over 20 golf courses open to visitors during the week, while the famous Gleneagles and St Andrews are only one and half hours away. Nearby is the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool which has a 50 meter pool, sauna baths and a snack bar. At the Meadowbank Sports Complex many International and European athletic meetings take place and there are fcilities for indoor sports such as Table Tennis, Squash and Basket-ball.

Please note: We are not suitable for Hen/Stag parties over 12 poeple as we do not operate a 24/7 Open Front Door policy. You must check with reservations at what time the front door will be closed as this can vary between seasons.

As smoking is not allowed in public places, the Ritz Hotel has decided to make ALL bedrooms SMOKING ALLOWED, so people do not need to leave the comfort of their room to smoke. We try to give every room a good airing between guests.
