Inverness, the capital of the Highlands stands on the River Ness with beautiful walks along the riverside. It has excellent air,(Inverness Airport is only 15 minutes drive from the town centre) road and rail links, making it readily accessible to the rest of the Highlands.

It forms an excellent base for touring the Highlands with the islands of Skye and Orkney easily manageable as day trips and the spectacular Glens of Moriston, Affric and Cannich all nearby.

The seaside towns of Nairn and Findhorn to the east and Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle to the north are all within 45 minutes drive. Dolphins can often be seen at Rosemarkie with boat trips available to observe them at closer range. Boat trips are also available down the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness where you might even spot Nessie!

The flat is very close to the town centre which has many amenties including shops (with a Victorian Market Arcade and the modern Eastgate shopping centre), bars and first class restaurants. The town's theatre, Eden Court, is a splendid venue for opera, ballet, drama, concerts, films, family shows and art exhibitions. The Museum and Art Gallery houses frequently change their exhibits and are well worth a visit. The town boasts a magnificent Sports and Leisure complex and swimming pool.

The Floral Hall provides a variety of plants which can be viewed in comfort in all weathers and there are a number of parks and gardens with recreational facilities.

Golf is available at numerous courses throughout the area. There are three in Inverness and two championship courses at Nairn (30 minutes drive) and Royal Dornoch is only a 45 minute drive away.

Fishing and hill/forest walking are also available nearby. Ian is a keen golfer and has also fished and is happy to help advise what might suit you best.

Visit the historic battlefield at Culloden - scene of the last civil battle fought in 1746 - with its Exhibition Centre; the castles at Cawdor, Brodie or Castle Stuart and the outstanding Fort George, - the last fort constructed in Britain - all within easy reach.

The flat is beautifully appointed and maintained and comprises an open-plan lounge/dining and kitchen area. One double bedroom, shower room and wash basin and separate toilet with wash basin. The lounge/dining area has a sofa bed, easy chairs, dining table and colour television. The galley kitchen comprises fridge, washing machine, microwave/double grill and oven with separate hob.

The flat is fully equipped and all linen and towels provided.
