Windermere is an ideal choice for a holiday, no matter what your tastes. For the
fell-walker, it is only a short car journey to the popular walking areas of
Coniston, Langdale, Grasmere, Ullswater and the quieter valleys of the Eastern
Fells. For water lovers, Windermere is the only remaining lake available for a
full range of water sports and for the naturalist, there is easy access to
Morecambe Bay and the quieter upland areas. 

For the painter there are many quiet viewpoints where a day's sketching can be 
achieved without interuption, and for the holiday maker who just wants to travel 
round and find quiet places to picnic and relax. 

Windermere is a good central starting point from which the whole of the Lake District 
and much more of the Pennines can be visited easily in a day.

Aaron Slack is a small guesthouse in a quiet part of Windermere, about half a
mile from the railway station and about one mile from the main access to the
Lake at Bowness Bay.

We cater mainly for people wanting to spend their days enjoying the beautiful
countryside of this special area of England. The proprietor is a keen painter,
fell-walker and naturalist and is able to give a wealth of advice on how to get
the best out of your holiday.

The guesthouse has 3 bedrooms:
one double or single with private shower & wc. Washbasin in bedroom.
one double with en-suite shower & wc.
one twin or double with en-suite bath, shower & wc. Double bed is 6ft wide.
All bedrooms have a radio and a colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities,
electric shaver points, separate hot water supplies and electric blankets.

The house is centrally heated throughout  
Ironing facilities and a telephone are available. Children over 12 are
welcome. A full English breakfast is normally served and special diets can be
caterd for. Packed lunches are also available.
