Off this leads the dining/sitting room with remote control colour television and video, table and chairs to seat six and a three piece suite and payphone. The views from this room are north over West Voe of Sumburgh, with its bird cliffs, with Fitful Head, Scatness and the Airport in the distance. In the summer, Puffins and Fulmar's come to within a few metres of the window!
Leading off the dining room is the fitted kitchen. There is a fridge, microwave, larder, store room, clothes drying cupboard, washing machine and electric cooker and grill. Crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils for six people is supplied.
There are four bedrooms - one double, one single (this can be used as a sitting room), one twin and leading off this room, another single room. There is a bathroom leading off the hallway with bath, basin and toilet. Water is heated by an oil-fired boiler, with an electric immersion heater if required.

Sumburgh Head is famous for its Seabird Colonies and for the migrating birds which find shelter around the Lighthous buildings and field walls in Spring and Autumn. Within 3 miles of the Head there is the Pool of Virkie (for birds), Grutness Pier (for Fair Isle Ferry), several wonderful white sand beaches, Jarlshof archaeological site, the Airport and the Bar and Restaurant at the Samburgh Hotel.
The cliffs at Sumburgh Head have been declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest as well as a Special Protection Area of International Importance by Scottish Natural Heritage. The Royal Society of the Protection of Birds have their Shetland office in one of the lighthouse-keeper's cottages'.
As well as birds, Sumburgh Head is also well-known throughout Shetland as a particularly good place from which to see whales and porpoises.
You are most welcome to stay any length of time.
