The elegant Georgian house is the home of Anne and Tony Milan and their aim is to offer their guests an enjoyable, value for money stay complemented by professional yet unobtrusive service.
The individually furnished, non smoking bedrooms are spacious and bright and include a ground floor room for their less active guests. All rooms are en suite and have central heating, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, together with many thoughtful extras, are standard throughout.
The elegant sitting room with its open log fire is an ideal place to relax at the end of the day. Tea or coffee is always available on request, alternatively if something a little stronger is required, your host Tony will be pleased to serve you a drink from the bar. On fine evenings you might like to take your drinks out on to the front lawn or even enjoy a stroll around the garden with its many unusual plants and trees.
Good food is essential to any holiday or short break and here at Guidfa House, the imaginative dinners are prepared by Cordon Bleu trained Anne, who uses fresh local produce in a combination of new and traditional recipies. Most dishes are based on the modern trend towards healthier eating, but never fear those wonderfully naughty puddings are not totally overlooked!
Set as it is, in the very heart of Wales, Guidfa House is an excellent base for touring the wonderful local countryside which includes the Elan Valley, the Radnor and Hafron Forests, the Brecon Beacons and the Welsh Borderlands.
Walkers and bird watchers alike will find plenty to interest them including the local RSPB Red Kite feeding station.
Cycle hire or pony trekking can easily be arranged together with hang-gliding or rally driving courses.
For those who prefere a more relaxed holiday there are many scenic drives and places of interest within reach, such as Powis Castle, Hergest Croft Gardens or the unique town of Hay on Wye with its host of antique book shops.
Guidfa House is not suitable for children under 10 years old.
