Built in 1785 in the rural hamlet of Knox, the house was formerly the residence of the owner of the adjoining Knox Mill, which still displays the original waterwheel and millrace. In later years the path leading to the nearby Ripon Road became known as Knox Mill Lane, now a quiet cul-de-sac ending at a picturesque ford.

Standing on the banks of the Oak Beck and situated about a mile from the centre of the elegant spa town of Harrogate, this charming period property has the sitting room and all the bedrooms facing south, with views over the attractively laid out garden, the stream and the meadow beyond.

An inglenook fireplace and oak beams preserve the 200 year old character, whilst the house now offers the comfort of centrally heated accommodation in a choice of twin or double bedded en suite rooms, each having a clock/radio and tea/coffee making facilities.

Traditional English breakfast are served in a vaulted alcove adjoining the comfortable sitting room which has television and a small library, which in additional to a wide range of books contains jigsaws, playing cards, games and literature describing the many walks and places of interest to be found in the area.
