Hastings Old Town has been a maritime centre for over a thousand years. On the Stade is Britain's largest fleet of beach launched fishing boats. The word "Stade" (meaning landing place) dates back to before the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

East of the Stade lies three miles of Country Park, an exhilarating mixture of sandstone cliffs, wooded glens and farmlands.

The Old Town is unique, with interesting and historic houses, some dating back to the 15th century and set in narrow lanes and Twittens (alleyways).

There are antique, craft and book shops to browse through, typical English pubs, good restaurants, wine bars and theatres for your enjoyment.

Croft Place, our recently refurbished Victorian house featured in Manwaring's "History of Hastings", is the ideal place to relax, explore the Old Town and Country Park. We are minutes away from the fishing harbour and beach.

Rooms are comfortable and individually decorated. All have television, hot drinks tray, bathrobes, hair dryer and ironing facilities.

Hastings is conveniently located for trips to and from London (95 minutes), or Brighton (60 minutes). It is also linked by road and rail to the Channel Tunnel and the ports of Dover and Folkestone.
