IRTON HALL
Irton Hall is set within 19 acres of grounds and 12 acres of mature parkland at the foot of the majestic western fells of the Lake District National Park. This very special location is ideal for exploring this beautiful region, which is unspoilt by mass tourism.
Close by Irton Hall are nature reserves, fishing tarns and Seascale golf. The Cumbrian Cycle Way (bikes available for hire or bring your own) is within two miles and there is access to the Coast To Coast long distance footpath at Ravenglass ( 4 miles), where there is also the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Narrow Gauge Railway.
Another close by attraction is Muncaster Castle which houses The World Owl Trust within its grounds.
At the Muncaster Water Mill, which has been producing flour since 1455, you can tour the mill and purchase their products. Today, using 19th century machinery, it produces organic stoneground flour.
Pottery courses are available in nearby Gosforth.
