"The Spindrift" is an imposing, stone-built Victorian home with many original internal features carefully restored.
Set in the picturesque fishing village of Anstruther, in the East Neuk of Fife, The Spindrift is just 10 minutes from St Andrews with its world famous golf courses, excellent beaches, and a multitude of independently owned shops. You will be a pampered guest in the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the elegantly furnished public rooms, where you can sit and have a pre-dinner drink while selecting the dishes of your choice from our menu which is changed daily. We also have a selection of fine wines to complement your meal.
You will find your bedroom generously proportioned, individually and tastefully furnished, with a private bathroom, colour television, direct dial telephone, hospitality tray and a host of other extras to help make your stay a pleasant one, making you want to return again and again.
A unique feature of the house is the Captain's Room, on the top floor. This was the special domain of the original owner of the house, a Tea Clipper Captain called Smith, who made the room a replica of a ship master's cabin, with its small east facing window looking towards Antruther, where he could see the tea clippers and the fishing fleet in the harbour. Now centrally heated (like the rest of the house) and with its own private bathroom, the Captain's Room is especially popular with couples of all ages, providing attractive, comfortable, and we hope particularly memorable accommodation.
The quaint coastal villages of the East Neuk form a unique chain of holiday and fishing locations, with their warm stone architecture featuring crow-step gables and red pantiles, steep cobbled streets and south-facing beaches. The area boasts a wide variety of activities and interests within easy driving distance, an extensive range of out door sports, including abseiling and windsurfing, and being only ten minutes from St Andrews, seat of Scotland's oldest University and the home of golf, you can see that The Spindrift provides the ideal base from which to tour and enjoy the splendours of central Scotland.
There are ample parking facilities in the grounds and we are open all year.
We are a NO-SMOKING house.
Sorry - no dogs.
We look forward to welcoming you.
