Forncet is a spacious Victorian house with full central heating. We have three guest rooms: a double room, a twin room and a single room, each equipped with a television. There are two shared bathrooms, one with a shower.

A lounge and billard room are also available for use by guests. A full English breakfast is served, but requests for other types of breakfast, e.g. vegetarian, are also welcome. Tea and coffee making facilities are available at all times.

We have a large, attractive, shady garden where guests are welcome to browse, and ample off-road parking.

Wem is a small market town in the heart of North Shropshire, on the B5476 between Shrewsbury and Whitchurch. It is served by a railway (the station lies about a quarter of a mile from Forncet) and has a bus service to various towns in the area. Historically it is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and was a centre of Roundhead resistance to Charles I in the English Civil War. It has several good shops - notably T O William's famous cheese, bakery and delicatessen - and a swimming pool and sports centre.

It is a very good base for touring, being only four miles from the well-known Hawkstone Park Follies and Golf Course, and is within easy reach of Ellesmere (the Shropshire Lake District), Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge, Chester and the Welsh Marches.
