Netheravon is a village in the Avon valley about five miles from Stonehenge and twelve miles from the Cathedral City of Salisbury. It is well situated for visits to Wilton House, Longleat House and Safari Park, Bath with its Roman Baths and narrow streets, Winchester, Southampton and Bournemouth as well as several National Trust properties and gardens which are open to the public.

There is a public indoor swimmimg pool at Durrington (5 mins) and three golf courses within easy reach.

Netheravon is within an hour's drive of several excellent year-round birdwatching areas, including the Cotswold Water Park, Slimbridge (1.5 hours) and Farlington Marshes.

A complete folio of places of interest to suit all tastes is available in the cottage.

The Stables cottage was converted in 1992 and stands in the yard of Ivy Cottage. It is fully equipped and has three bedrooms with one double bed and three single beds with duvets. (Sheets and blankets on request). The bedrooms are small with old fashioned beams and sloping ceilings and are beautifully furnished. The main bedroom has a wash basin and there is a separate washroom with toilet. A cot can be provided on request.

Downstairs is a large dining-cum-sitting room with French windows leading onto a small patio and lovely garden, a bathroom including a shower and WC and a neat compact and fully equipped kitchen, with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave ,fridge/freezer and water filter. The washing machine in the main house may be used.

The cottage is heated by night storage and convector heaters downstairs and electric radiators upstairs. A wood-burning stove in the living room gives added heat when necessary as well as a homely atmosphere.

There is parking in the yard directly outside the cottage.

The cottage is rented either on a wholly self-catering basis or else evening meals can be provided by prior arrangement, either for the whole period or for certain evenings. The menu can be discussed the day before and you may invite your own guests for an evening 'out' in your own home. You will have to provide your own wine and other drinks. The meal is brought to the cottage and you are left to enjoy it in privacy as if in your own home.

General Information: General store and Post Office in village. Amesbury (4miles) has a good range of shops and Wednesday market. Regular bus service from outside the door to Salisbury, Marlborough and Swindon.
