The Glengarry Castle Hotel has been privately owned and personally run by the MacCallum family since 1958. This is the perfect location for touring both west coast and Loch Ness areas of the Highlands. Enjoy spectacular lochside walks through extensive woodland.
Glengarry Castle is a most comfortable country house hotel with a jewel of a setting on the shores of Loch Oich, which lies between Loch Ness and Loch Lochy in the heart of the Scottish Highland's Great Glen.
The hotel enjoys a deserved reputation for Highland hospitality. Fresh local produce in season is the key to successful traditional cooking, and good old-fashioned Scottish afternoon teas are a daily highlight.
The building is Victorian with detailing such as pine-panelled reception hall and marble fireplaces, built by the noted architect David Bryce. Mellow oil paintings reflect the glow of welcoming log fires.
The 26 bedrooms, which have been recently refurbished, each have a private bathroom, colour television and direct dial telephone. Some have four poster or half tester beds. All have splendid views.
Take advantage of the hotel's facilities including rowing boats, fishing for trout or pike and the newly resurfaced Elastosol tennis court. Discover how much of the Highlands lie within a leisurely days drive.
The ruins of Invergarry Castle, ancient seat of the MacDonnells of Glengarry - which gave shelter to Bonnie Prince Charlie before and after the Battle of Culloden - stands within sight of the hotel.
Please note: The hotel does not have a lift and there are no ground floor bedrooms. Some rooms are non smoking.
