Ivy Dene is a 300 year old Dales Listed building situated inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the village of West Witton, approximately four miles from Aysgarth Falls.

The accommodation has been tastefully adapted to provide all the modern comforts while retaining the charm and character of the "old country cottage". We have five guest bedrooms and can accommodate up to twelve people at a time, which means we can assure you of our personal attention at all times. Each bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities, a wash basin and hairdryer. Most rooms have full en suite facilities and a colour television.

Our 'four-poster' room is ideal for that romantic weekend away from it all. The other en suite rooms are attractively furnished with lace canopied beds or attractive Victorian-style brass bedsteads.

The view from the front of the house looks out across the village to the beautiful Wensleydale valley beyond, along which runs the River Ure. From the back of the house you will see Pen Hill, which separates Wensleydale from neighbouring Coverdale, and is shrouded in mystery and legend.

West Witton is one of the Wensleydale's oldest villages, dating back to the 11th century, being mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. In more recent times it has close connections with the author James Herriot and the filming of the BBC television series of "All Creatures Great and Small". It is still very much a working, farming village with a friendly and thriving local community supporting two typical Dales pubs, an ancient church and a village green and pond.

Within easy reach there are several charming Dales towns as well as many ancient castles to explore and interesting Abbey ruins.

Pony trekking, fishing, golf (there are seven courses nearby), walking the many well-mapped footpaths, climbing and caving are all activities available in the Dales. Why not enjoy a relaxing picnic in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside before coming back to Ivy Dene for a drink and a delicious home cooked meal.
