Welcome ....... as a privately owned and independent hotel, the White Hart's sole objective is to provide each guest with the service to suit their individual need. For centuries the White Hart has been a place of rest and relaxation.
Our service is bespoke and your stay should be a delightful time of relaxation and enjoyment.
Should any of our guests require any special arrangements, the White Hart is more than willing to help. As our reputation belies, there is very little that cannot be arranged for our guest. For example, chauffeur driven car, car hire, faxing and photocopying can all be provided with prior arrangement.
Rich in character, the White Hart offers a tasteful mix of the old and the new. Within the walls of this ancient building there are a wide range of rooms and suites, custom tailored to the requirements of today's world. All of our 19 suites and rooms are fitted with wall to wall carpeting, en suite bathroom, trouser press, telephone, colour television, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Functions at the White Hart are known locally to be some of the most memorable and fun, without disturbing our other guests. The White Hart can cater for all types of function and party from wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays and luncheon clubs.
Our purpose built conference suite has all the facilities to ensure comfortable and productive meetings that will not be interfered with by other guests.
Harts Restaurant offers a diverse but select range of the finest wines and the most delicious meals. Our long standing reputation for cuisine extends far and wide and is reflected in our AA 2 Rosettes. Our fully stocked bar and wine cellar provide a wide variety of beverage. In addition a strong tradition of purchasing the most select wines has resulted in Hart's being able to offer a range of 40 to 50 wines to envy.
The village of Dorchester lies on the banks of the River Thame, just 1/2 a mile from its junction with the Thames, and has been the site of habitation since the Iron Age. The village is centred around the 12th century Abbey church with its famous stained windows. History is ever present in the village and can be experienced in the different styles of architecture, the medieval burial sites on the edge of the village, the Dyke Hills, or the site of an ancient castle on the Wittenham Clumps that overlooks the village.
Dorchester has a selcetion of antique shops, and is on the main bus routes from Oxford, Henley and Heathrow. Being in the centre of the Thames Valley, our business guests will find the White Hart the perfect working location: 20 minutes from M40 and a stones throw away from local industrial centres.
As a base, Dorchester is perfectly situated for trips to the Cotswolds or the Chiltern Hills. Bypassed by the Oxford/Henley road, guests at the White Hart are in a prime location to visit all the delights that the Thames Valley has to offer.
