Simon and Valerie Green will welcome you to Killerby Cottage Farm and ensure that you have an enjoyable stay.

The farm is situated between Scarborough and Filey in the pleasant countryside just over a mile from beautiful Cayton Bay. It is a working arable farm with horses and stables.

The farmhouse was originally two farm cottages and has been tastefully converted to make a delightful farmhouse with many beautiful features. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, radio/clock alarm, hairdryers and colour television. We offer double, twin-bedded and a family room and all rooms have en suite facilities.

The Guest's lounge has an interesting split level and impressive stone wall with open log fireplace. Both television and video are available for guest's use.The conservatory overlooks the pleasant garden and water garden which we hope our guests will enjoy during their stay.

The full English breakfasts served in the dining room will set you up for the day ahead. The menus are varied throughout the week. There are several good places for an evening meal in the locality and we will be pleased to recommend some to you.

AROUND AND ABOUT IN THE AREA

When you stay at Killerby Cottage Farm you will find yourself in the centre of an ideal holiday area:

Adjacent to the farm is the Stained Glass Centre where visitors are welcome to watch the craftsmen at work and to browse in the showroom.

Cayton Bay is only about a mile and a half away from Killerby Cottage Farm. It is a beautiful untouched part of the coastline and is protected by the National Parks. The Cleveland Way runs along the coast and there are some lovely walks to enjoy.

Scarborough is an historic seaside resort offering interest for all the family. The North and South Bays are dominated by the Medieval Castle. The old fishermen's houses and narrow streets leading down to the harbour in the old town, contrasting with the busy shopping centre at the top of the town.

Scarborough is the home of the old famous playwright, Alan Ayckbourn and in 1996 the new Stephen Joseph Theatre opened in the Round.

Filey is a quieter resort which has remained untouched by the developers. The fishing cobles still set out from the Coble Landing into beautiful Filey Bay as they have done for centuries.

A short drive south brings you to Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head where bird watchers come from all over the country to see rare and interesting migrants.

A few miles inland from Cayton Bay are the North Yorkshire Moors. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway can transport you on a nostalgic journey from the market town of Pickering right into "Heartbeat" countryside. Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar are other delightful fishing resorts on your journey back down the coast.

Visit Castle Howard (of Brideshead Revisited fame) or any of the other stately homes in the area.

The historic city of York is only 40 miles away and has many delightful attractions and churches in its quaint medieval streets.

Hopefully you will have time to enjoy the delights of our farm as well during your stay. You can be assured of a friendly, Yorkshire welcome and our best attention to your needs at all times.
