Holidays on the Cambo Estate have everything you need to create the perfect holiday break - the facilities, the ambience and peace. There is so much for you to enjoy without leaving the estate and so much more near by when you do. You can choose between our magnificent bed and breakfast rooms with their private facilities or the freedom of our fine self-catering apartments and cottages. All the accommodation is available all the year round.
Cambo Estate is a traditional Lowland estate of 1600 acres that sweeps gently down to the seashore and Cambo Sands. There are charming woodland walks down to the beach and seashore along the wooded course of the Cambo burn. Other walks criss crossing the estate give sweeping views across the fertile farmlands, punctuated by hedgerows and shelter belts, and onwards across the Tay estuary towards Arbroath and Stonehaven.
BED AND BREAKFAST
The bed and breakfast rooms are on the first floor in the main family part of the house off the magnificent main staircase. There is a fine four-poster bed in one of the bedrooms which has en suite facilities and looks west over the handsome parkland with its carpet of daffodils and blossom in the spring. The other room has a fine Victorian tester bed. This room catches the morning sun as it faces east overlooking the tennis lawn and the woods to the sea.
APARTMENTS AND COTTAGES - Self Catering Accommodation
All our holiday accommodation is offered with a range of facilities that include -: a colour television: video recorder: a microwave oven: a cooker: a fridge: a washing machine/dryer, plus kettle, toaster etc,. There is ample convenient parking space and the village shop, which is open both Saturday and Sunday mornings, is within a mile.
THE APARTMENTS are all in our family home. Although it is an important historical listed building, they are maintained to a comfortable and homely standard. They share a coin operated washing machine and telephone and additional freezer space. The kitchens have been recently modernised and are equipped with all the crockery, cutlery and utensils that you need away on holiday. Every room has an electric heater run off the coin operated meter. If you enjoy the freedom of self catering accommodation, but also the luxury of having your breakfast cooked for you, we are pleased to offer breakfast in the dining room at an extra cost. WEST WING: 2nd floor - sleeps 8
This very spacious apartment has fine furniture with three twin and one double bedroom (four-poster), a sitting room, a kitchen/dining room, (with a dishwasher and fridge/freezer) bathroom, shower room and two toilets. The apartment faces west over parkland and south over the family's private lawn and garden.
EAST WING: 2nd floor - sleeps 8
This apartment comprises the rest of the second floor with a similar compliment of rooms. The sitting room overlooks the visitor's lawn with a view over the tennis court, slides, swing, and other outdoor play equipment. One of the bedrooms has a fine four poster- bed and the other three are twin-bedded. There is a kitchen/dining room (with dishwasher and fridge/freezer), sitting room, bathroom, shower room and two toilets. These two apartments have very large rooms with high ceilings and magnificent windows. The door between them can be unlocked to provide the largest self-contained apartment in Scotland, sleeping 16.
ATTIC APARTMENT: top floor - sleeps 6
This convenient and compact apartment is at the very top of the house and so is not for the weak hearted. It has the same aspect as the East Wing over the lawns. It has one double room and two twin -bedded rooms, a spacious sitting room, a kitchen/dining area with dishwasher, bathroom and toilet. Sleeps 6
PARKVIEW APARTMENT: second floor - sleeps 4
This comfortable apartment overlooks the traditional parkland. It has two twin bedded rooms and a sitting room , spacious kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, bathroom, shower room and separate toilet.
THE COTTAGES are two out of a row of traditional farm cottages with a peaceful view over farmland. They are conveniently situated on the regular Dundee/Leven bus route and less than a mile from all the facilities at the mansion house. There is a patio with childrens play equipment to the rear. They are compact and easy to keep clean and warm, having off peak heating with an open fire in each sitting room. Like the apartments, they also have fully fitted and equipped kitchens, including a fridge/freezer and a washing machine/dryer.
EAST COTTAGE: sleeps 4
This has a double bedroom and a twin bedded room. There is a sitting room, a kitchen/dining room, a bathroom and toilet.
MID COTTAGE: sleeps 2/4
This cottage has one twin bedded room, a sitting room with a sofa/double bed, a kitchen/dining room and a bathroom with toilet.
