The self-catering accommodation is situated on the rocky east coast of Harris in the Bays village of Finsbay.Caledonian-MacBrayne ferry terminals are located at:-
Stornoway the major town and administrative centre of The Western Isles has an airport with daily flights to and from INverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen including Sunday flights
It should be noted that there are no Sunday MacBrayne sailings to Tarbert from Uig and to Stornoway from Ullapool but there is a Sunay service between Uig and Lochmaddy with linking ferry service to Leverburgh, Harris.
Cars are available for hire, if required, from Stornoway. Public transport is available 200 yards from Cnoc-na-Ba.
The accommodation is located just 200 yards from the sea amid moorland, hills and inland lochs of South Harris. The terrain is wild and majestic, ideal for hill walking, bird watching, fishing or just getting away from it all. It is a nature lovers paradise. A nine-hole golf course and glorious golden sands beaches are located on the west coast of the island, overlooking the castaway island of Taransay, all within easy reach by car or cycle if you are energetic!
If you wish to escape the stress of a busy life style, Harris is an ideal holiday location at all times of the year. Winter weather is not harsh, but it may be windy, which has its attractions.
The nearest food store is five miles away in Leverburgh. Basic groceries can be ordered in advance for your convenience. The post office is just 200 yards away. There are large supermarkets in Stornoway.
The luxury accommodation is a self-contained unit, which adjoins, but is completely separate from the owners house. It sleeps four with comfort, but can sleep 5. There are car parking facilities.
The accommodation is available for hire all year round. It is ready for occupancy from 1400 hours on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10:30 a.m. on the day of departure. Booking during the peak months of May to September is from Saturday to Saturday only. Other times may be flexible and negotiated. Please contact the owner to discuss your needs.
The property comprises: A large comfortable wood-panelled sitting room with colour television, video recorder and music centre incorporating in open plan, a dining area and fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, washing machine, electric and microwave cookers and other electrical appliances.Books, games, cd/cassettes are available for your indoor entertainment. A utility room with drying facilities is under construction.
Two bedrooms - one double-bedded room, the other with two single beds. A cot and high chair are available if required. All beds are fitted with electric blankets. The compact bathroom contains a bath/shower and wash hand basin.All linen, towels & bedding are provided. A bed stool with a full size single bed gives additional sleeping availability for a 5th person. Oil fired central heating which you can adjust to suit your requirments is provided and is included in the charge together with hot water.
Electricity is supplied by a pay-meter taking 50p coins. There is a pay phone. A garden with patio area is available for your use. A laundry/utility room provides drying facilities. A telephone is provided.
