The whole area is an angler's paradise to suit both beginners and experts. There are many lochs, several of them virtually unfished and some of which have boats. The lochs have an abundance of wild brown trout and excellent bags can be obtained. Most of the lochs are fairly remote but forestry roads make several of them easily accessible by car. There is a fishing tackle and gift shop in the hotel.

Deer Stalking and Grouse Shooting can be arranged for the appropriate seasons. The area abounds with wildlife. Birds of many varieties, including the Golden Eagle, frequent the surrounding hills and peat bogs. Deer, otters, wildcats and pine martens can all be spotted. It is not uncommon for deer to graze outside the dining room windows providing a great attraction at meal times.

The hotel is completely modern in concept and is centrally heated throughout. There are twelve bedrooms, most with private facilities. All beds have electric blankets and duvets and all rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. Single, double and twin rooms are available.

Warm, comfortable public rooms include a large residents sun lounge and a separate television lounge. The dining room has magnificent panoramic views over the Ben Griams and the surrounding countryside. Children are welcome and well behaved dogs are allowed in the hotel except in the drying room.

The hotel has an excellent drying room for guests' use and laundry facilities are available. For the energetic there is a room where skittles, pool and table tennis can be played.
