The Shieling is a warm and friendly bed and breakfast establishment located at Strathcarron on the A890 road between Achnasheen and Kyle of Lochalsh; only minutes from a railway station on the scenic line between Inverness and Kyle. It is centrally located, providing a comfortable base, amid magnificent mountain scenery, for many leisure activities, particularly hill walking and mountain climbing. Ideal for day trips to such places as The Isle of Skye and Inverewe Gardens.

There is available, at nearby Lochcarron, car and bicycle hire; boat and canoe hire; also fishing equipment. There is also a golf course with club hire available.

The Shieling accommodates only five guests in three bedrooms; two twin bedded rooms and one single. One twin bedroom has private en suite facilities; the other two bedrooms have wash basins and share a bath/shower room.
