First recorded in The Domesday Book as "Elbretone", today's Albright Hussey Hotel retains all the charm and character of it's history. The present owners, Mr and Mrs Franco Subbiani, purchased Albright Hussey in March 1988. With their son Paul they have personally supervised the restoration programme paying meticulous attention to every detail of this historic house, making it one of the finest hotels in the area.

The present house, dating back to Tudor times, mirrors a wealth of history. Built in 1524 the timber framed section is the earliest part, the brick and stone wing being added by 1560. Inside a wealth of oak panelling, huge open fireplaces and original moulded beams create a comfortable and welcoming ambience.

Albright Hussey is renowned for its culinary excellence. Superb food, fine wines and impeccable service combine in an atmosphere of quiet elegance. The Restaurant boasts a world-class chef who takes pride in preparing only the freshest ingredients with care and imagination to create the highest standards in flavour and presentation.

Standing in four acres of landscaped gardens in beautiful open countryside, Albright Hussey is an idyllic setting. The house itself forms an exquisite backdrop to its truely English garden.

Another unique and charming feature of Albright Hussey is the moat. Much of the original still exists and is crossed by an early stone bridge. Black swans make their home here in the beautiful gardens, as they swim in the moat or waddle accross the lawns.

Converted to an hotel back in 1990, Albright Hussey has quickly gained an enviable reputation for offering the finest accommodation in the area. The utmost care has been taken in planning and furnishing the spacious rooms, each individually designed to enhance the character of the building and to provide the best quality and comfort. Each suite has been decorated with flair and imagination. Most have spa baths, four-poster beds and original antique furniture. All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, a hairdryer, trouser press, colour television and direct dial telephone in the bedroom and bathroom.

Albright Hussey is in the heart of rural Shropshire, although only four minutes from the delightful medieval town of Shrewsbury, the home of the world-famous Shrewsbury Flower Show. Close by there is a wealth of places to visit - Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway, Ludlow Castle - to name but a few. There are also numerous sporting facilities available.
