CROESO I GYMRU! WELCOME TO WALES!
Bryn Awel is a farmhouse on a 35 acre working sheep farm, deep in the hills surrounding the famous Vale of Clwyd. Near to the small hamlet of Bontuchel, on the outskirts of the market town of Ruthin, we are ideally located for all that North Wales has to offer.
Many local castles such as Ruthin, Denbigh, Rhuddlan, Conwy and Bodelwyddan are tangible relics of the fiery history of the Welsh princes, and add their spectacular outline to the contours of the local countryside. Only an hours drive has you deep in the Snowdonia National Park, world famous for its unrivalled scenery, with the mountain peak of Snowdon towering over lake-filled valleys and hidden villges.
A medieval market town, Ruthin boasts many attractions of its own, such as medieval Banquets in the castle and a fascinating array of architecture giving an insight into the history of the town through the ages. The livestock market two days a week ensurers a lively trade for the farming community, and keeps vital links open with the wider agricultural industry for which Wales is famous.
Bryn Awel has half a mile of private fishing, with riverbank walks where you can relax and soak up that special tranquility of the countryside, and where the family can appreciate the beautiful wild flora and fauna to be found locally. A superb bird hide and forest walk is just minutes away from Bryn Awel. Offa's Dyke is near enough for the more hardy hiker and situated along the tops of the mountains bordering the Vale, provides unrivalled views of the Welsh coastline and Snowdon far in the distance.
For those whose creature comforts are a priorty, the warm welcome at Bryn Awel will immediately set you at ease. Beryl has many cooking awards to her credit, and can cater for all tastes (and special diets if necessary, given prior notice). In the tradition of a farmhouse, good freshly cooked local food is standard.
There are brass beds in the en suite twin bedroom. The double room has its own
private bathroom. Both rooms have views of the rolling hills and are furnished
and decorated to a very high standard, with tea and coffee making facilities.
Each room has its own television, but with all that we have to offer at Bryn
Awel, we believe that even your favourite soaps will pale by comparison!
