Titlington is a tiny hamlet, situated in the midst of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. In the 12th Century there was a small village in one of the fields, now Titlington is a 550 acre stock farm.

The whole area is steeped in history and our cottages are an excellent base for a holiday. The lovely Cheviot Hills are just across the beautiful Breamish Valley, ten minutes drive away. The unspoilt Northumbrian coastline is half an hour drive to the East - miles of golden sand to walk along and a pretty fishing village to explore. There are frequent boat trips to the Farne Islands where you will see hosts of seals and many varieties of sea birds. Further up the coast you can drive across a causeway at low tide, to Holy Island, calling at Bamburgh Museum to learn about Grace Darling on the way. There are numerous castles to explore, both on the coast and inland. The medieval town of Alnwick has its own impressive castle, a section of which is home to the Duke of Northumberland the rest open to the public and well worth a visit. The scottish border is just half an hour drive North by which time you are well on the way to Edinburgh, a lovely city with a truely majestic castle. Hadrian's Wall is a little more than an hours drive across to the south-west, encountering the noble mansion of Wallington Hall on the way. Kielder Water, the largest man-made lake in Europe, offers a wide range of attractions and is well worth a visit.

These cottages are extremely spacious, very well furnished and beautifully warm with full gas central heating. They are in excellent condition and have been awarded the Four Keys Commended by the Tourist Board. Each cottage has an enclosed lawned garden at the rear with superb views to the hills. There is ample car parking space at the front. Sheets, duvets and towels are provided (blankets available on request). Gas and elecrticity is included in the rent. Cots and high chairs available. HILL VIEW COTTAGE: Sleeps 4

SHEPHERD'S COTTAGE: Sleeps 3 to 4

Sitting room with electric fire and colour television (video available on request for œ12.00 per week). Bathroom with bath, wash basin and shower. Separate toilet. Two bedrooms, one with twin beds, one with single bed but with space for additional smaller bed if required. Garden chairs.

Alnwick - 15 minutes, Newcastle Airport - 50 minutes and Edinburgh airport - 1 hour 30 minutes.
