Fodder House is a barn conversion situated about five miles from the country
market town of Bridgenorth. The whole area is renowned for it's outstanding
natural beauty.
Standing in thirty acres of farmland in the hamlet of Oldfield, the house is
only a short distance from Brown Clee Hill which attracts numerous walkers in
all seasons. Other tourist attractions are within easy reach, yet Fodder House
guests appreciate the tranquillity offered at Oldfield.
Available in the house are two double/twin bedded rooms, one en suite and the
other with wash basin and private bathroom. Rooms are all centrally heated and
have beverages supplied and colour television. A cot and high chair are
available if required.
Guests have a separate traditional dining room and sitting room. Fodder House
has a small attractive garden with barbeque available. There are several local
inns providing excellent evening meals.
Bridgenorth - 5 miles. This historic split-level market town is situated on the
River Severn. The ruined castle bears witness to the towns involvement in the
Civil War. A major attraction is the Severn Valley Railway running regular steam
services to Kidderminster.
Ironbridge - 12 miles. The first ironbridge in the world spanning the River
Severn, can still be crossed on foot. This bridge marks the birthplace of the
Industrial Revolution.
Much Wenlock - 10 miles. A small historic town with quaint timbered and stone
buildings including St Milburgha's Priory dating back to 680AD. Wenlock Edge is
a famous escarpment with panoramic views of the Stretton Hills and the Wrekin.
Ludlow - 18 miles. One of Englands finest country towns has a castle, elegant
Georgian houses, a large Parish Church and numerous timbered buildings.
